Set in the East Village of New York City, Rent is about falling in love, finding your voice and living for today. Based loosely on Puccini’s La Boheme, Jonathan Larson’s Rent follows a year in the life of a group of impoverished young artists and musicians struggling to survive and create in New York’s Lower East Side, under the shadow of HIV/AIDS. The physical and emotional complications of the disease pervade the lives of Roger, Mimi, Tom and Angel. Maureen deals with her chronic infidelity through performance art; her partner, Joanne, wonders if their relationship is worth the trouble. Benny has sold out his Bohemian ideals in exchange for a hefty income and is on the outs with his former friends. Mark, an aspiring filmmaker, feels like an outsider to life in general. How these young bohemians negotiate their dreams, loves and conflicts provides the narrative thread to this groundbreaking musical.

In a Berlin nightclub, as the 1920’s draw to a close, a garish Master of Ceremonies welcomes the audience and assures them they will forget all their troubles at the Cabaret. With the Emcee’s bawdy songs as wry commentary, Cabaret explores the dark, heady, and tumultuous life of Berlin’s natives and expatriates as Germany slowly yields to the emerging Third Reich. Cliff, a young American writer newly arrived in Berlin, is immediately taken with English singer Sally Bowles. Meanwhile, Fräulein Schneider, proprietor of Cliff and Sally’s boarding house, tentatively begins a romance with Herr Schultz, a mild-mannered fruit seller who happens to be Jewish. Musical numbers include “Willkommen,” “Cabaret,” “Don’t Tell Mama” and “Two Ladies.”

Using music from some of the most prominent and influential artists of the 60’s such as The Rolling Stones, The Who, Bob Dylan, Janis Joplin, The Band, Crosby Stills & Nash, Aretha Franklin and The Beatles plus many many more, Decades in Concert: Spirit of the Sixties tells the story of the history and culture of America from JFK to the Apollo Moon Landing and everything in between. BOBBY DARIN. Singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, actor in film and television. He performed in a range of music genres, including jazz, pop, rock’n’roll, folk, swing and country. He started in show business as a songwriter for Connie Francis and achieved world fame in 1958 with his own first million-seller “Splish Splash”. He died following a heart operation in 1973 at the age of 37. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990, the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1999, and the Recording Academy gave him a posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2010 Grammy Awards ceremony.

It has been said that had he lived, he would have been more famous than Frank Sinatra. Darin was that multi-talented. In this special show, Vegas entertainer Ron Gartner honors the Darin legacy… singing the songs of the swingin-est guy who ever put on a tux…in a show that covers everything from Darin’s rock ‘n’ roll days to the evening at the Copa (with a slight detour into Country, Folk and Political Activism). John Denver by Ted Vigil

Ted was adopted out of Colorado and raised in the Seattle area. He has been performing since the age of ten. In 2006 he went to Laughlin, NV to compete in the Talent Quest ’06 competition involving 28 states, New Zealand, Australia, and Canada taking first place. He then went on to win KOMO TV 4’s N.W. Afternoon Celebrity Look Alike Contest.

In just a very short time Ted has developed into a national act. He performs all over the country at casinos, show rooms, night clubs, fraternal clubs, private parties, fairs and festivals. Last year Ted was at the John Denver Festival, The CMA Fan Fair Festival in Nashville, the Travelin’ Inc Country Cruise with Darryl Worley & Storme Warren (http://www.travelininc.com/CountryCruise2010.html) among many other venues.

The most heard comments after the show are, “I can’t believe how much he looks and sounds like John Denver, it really took us back!”
