Downtown Cabaret Theatre (Bridgeport, CT) is seeking submissions for Sound Engineer/Operators for the remainder of our 2023 Season.
Downtown Cabaret Theatre (Bridgeport, CT) has been a cornerstone of the community for over forty years, providing high-quality theatrical experiences that have earned us numerous awards. We are currently looking for an experienced Sound Engineer to join our team.
Responsibilities:
– Provide live sound engineering for all shows, including mixing FOH and monitors
– Operate and maintain the MIDAS M32 Live Console
– Program cues, scenes, snippets, and show files on the M32
– Configure DCA’s, matrix, sends, and aux
– Import and export show files
– Perform firmware upgrades
– Mark up audio script
– Fire musical tracks on Qlab 5 on cue for shows that do not have a live band
– Mix both FOH and Monitors for shows with a band, including 18 mic packs, the band, 32 channels, and 6 aux for playback
– Develop a complete and comprehensive understanding of I/O and routing between the console, amps, and speakers
– Maintain and repair eighteen wireless systems, including tune, gain, and RF issues
– Competent in quickly programming and firing show tracks and sound effects in Qlab 5
– Competent in basic audio editing in Qlab, Logic, Protools, or similar DAWS
– Facilitate all Clear-Com headsets and packs are run to the necessary destination
– Test Clear-Com system is working prior to each rehearsal and performance
– Maintain battery inventory, mic tape, and moisture barriers for wireless body packs
Requirements:
– A minimum of two years of experience in theatrical live sound using the above equipment
– A fluent understanding of the equipment and procedures outlined above
Compensation:
– $60 to $85 per show, depending on your level of experience

Downtown Cabaret Theatre Company is looking for an experienced Office Administrator/Executive Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in similar roles and will be responsible for managing the daily administrative operations of the company. The position reports directly to the Executive Director.
The successful candidate will be highly competent in the following areas:
– Project management: ability to manage projects from start to finish, ensuring deadlines are met and deliverables are achieved.
– See around corners: anticipating needs, identifying potential problems and providing proactive solutions.
– Self-starter: ability to work independently and take initiative in managing tasks and responsibilities.
– Attention to detail: ensuring accuracy in all tasks and deliverables.
– Follow-up and follow-through: following up with departments to ensure they are on track
– Scheduling meetings: coordinating and scheduling meetings with the board, staff, and creative team members.

– Implementing the use of technology to reduce redundant tasks and maximize efficiency: utilizing technology to streamline operations.
– Coordinating the functions of the administrative and production sides of the business: working closely with all departments to ensure no communication dropouts.
– Onboarding of new employees: managing the onboarding process for new hires.
– Preparation for board meetings: assisting with preparing materials for board meetings.

Downtown Cabaret Theatre (Bridgeport, CT) is seeking submissions for a Lighting Tech
Downtown Cabaret Theatre Company, located in Bridgeport, CT, is currently seeking a talented and versatile individual to join our team as a Lighting Technician with basic carpentry skills. This is a full-time position offering health benefits and a 401k plan. If you have a passion for theatrical lighting and possess the ability to handle carpentry tasks, we would love to hear from you!
**Responsibilities:**
Must be very proficient in the following areas:
– Maintain the lighting rig by cleaning and repairing conventional lighting units, moving lights, LED units, dimmers, and cables.
– Perform touch-up focus and ensure all lighting areas are maintained in a tidy and organized fashion.
– Keep inventory of lighting supplies and perishables, ensuring that the necessary items are readily available.
– Program the MA dot2 lighting console when required, demonstrating proficiency in its operation.
– Feel comfortable operating the MA dot2 console to “busk” the lighting for concerts, showcasing your creativity and adaptability.
– Serve as the light board operator for all shows, ensuring flawless execution of lighting cues and effects.
– Assist with carpentry tasks as needed, contributing to load-ins and load-outs during crew calls.
**Requirements:**
– Previous experience as a lighting technician in a theatrical setting is preferred.
– Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain an orderly lighting area.
– Familiarity with inventory management, including tracking supplies and restocking as necessary.
– Basic carpentry skills to assist with load-ins, load-outs, and other carpentry tasks.
– Strong teamwork and communication skills, as you will be collaborating with other crew members and artists.

VOLUNTEER WITH US
Do you love theatre? Do you have a knack for sales, customer service, production, or community outreach? The Downtown Cabaret Theatre seeks enthusiastic volunteers for a variety of jobs. As a volunteer, you will have an opportunity to meet many new and exciting people and attend quality performances.
Ushers
Ushers are customer service-oriented individuals who enhance the experience of our audiences. They assist patrons to their seats, answer questions, and create a friendly and welcoming environment. Training is just 4 hours and you must work a minimum of 4 shows per season.
Requirements:
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Team-player
- The ability to climb stairs and stand for extended periods of time.
- Must be 16 years old
- Must wear and provide your own white shirt, black slacks and solid black flat shoes, no open front or back.
Ambassadors
Community Ambassadors are friendly folks who are passionate about theater and want to promote our brand. They visit community organizations, makes phone calls, document meetings, and discover opportunities to partner with other organizations.

- An interest in community building
- A friendly disposition
- Great listening skills
- The ability to follow up and stay in touch with new contacts
- An interest in building relationships
- The ability to keep records
