IN THE HEIGHTS Benefit for Puerto Rico
On September 20th, 2017, everything changed for Puerto Rico when a hurricane of unprecedented strength destroyed much of the island, leaving a great majority of Puerto Ricans without power, access to food, water and communications.
Having just completed a run of Lin-Manuel Miranda’s musical love-letter to Puerto Rico, IN THE HEIGHTS, the Downtown Cabaret Theatre’s mainstage company felt an immediate need to take action to support our friends, family, and neighbors in Puerto Rico. So, everyone involved with the production returned to Bridgeport and volunteered their time to create a benefit-concert version of this beautiful show to generate financial support for the Hispanic Federation for the UNIDOS fund.
One hundred percent of contributions to the UNIDOS Fund will provide for the immediate and long-term recovery needs of children, families and communities in distress from the devastation caused by Hurricane Maria.
