“DECADES IN CONCERT” 

 

Downtown Cabaret Theatre in Bridgeport, CT is accepting submissions for their upcoming production of DECADES IN CONCERT: THE SOUNDS OF THE SEVENTIES.

Seeking an Equity/Non Equity  male professional singer who moves well to perform in a brand new musical revue.  

This call is to re-cast one of the four cast members who showcased the production this past August hence the abbreviate rehearsal schedule below.

NYC area performers will be required to travel to Bridgeport for rehearsals and performances.  Round trip transportation via Metro North between Grand Central Station and Bridgeport will be provided.

 

ABOUT THE SHOW:

The Downtown Cabaret Theatre in Bridgeport, CT is launching a new concert-style series of revue musicals based on the music of the 1970s. DECADES IN CONCERT revisits the history and culture of the 1970s through music and nostalgic multimedia. Using the biggest radio hits of the 1970s paired with images and videos from the time period, DECADES IN CONCERT tells the story of the 1970s including everything from popular culture, fashion, politics, and disco through song and dance. Cast is comprised of a small number of performers who each have multiple solos and featured moments.

SUBMISSIONS:

Send headshot, resume, and video of 2 song selections (uptempo and ballad) approx 1 minute in length from the 1970s.

 

REHEARSALS:

This production is a re-mount and therefore rehearsals are limited. Rehearsals are Sunday-Thursday January 26 through January 30, 2020 from 6:00pm-10pm. A production video and instrumental tracks will be available prior to rehearsals for outside preparation.  

 

PERFORMANCES:

Performances for Decades in Concert run for 3 weekends. Production opens January 31 and closes February 16. Performance times are Fridays (7:30), Saturdays (5:00 + 8:00) and Sunday (4:30)
