It’s a Double Anniversary as the DOWNTOWN CABARET THEATRE and the Tony Award-winning smash A CHORUS LINE both turn 50! It’s “one thrilling combination” and we are excited to announce auditions for our June 2026 production of this milestone musical.
Winner of the 1976 Pulitzer Prize for drama and 9 Tony Awards including Best Musical, this brilliantly conceived masterpiece depicts seventeen dancers auditioning for 8 spots in a new Broadway show, revealing their personal, intense stories about life, ambition, and the desire to dance. Michael Bennet’s dance-driven concept and the powerful score (including “WHAT I DID FOR LOVE” and “ONE”) and book helped make A CHORUS LINE the longest-running musical of its time and a “singular sensation”.

PLEASE PREPARE FOR YOUR AUDITION:
- A 32-bar cut of a song from the musical or in the style of A CHORUS LINE that showcases your voice
- An accompanist will be provided; please provide your own sheet music
- A printed copy of your resume
- A printed headshot or recent photo
- Be prepared to learn a dance combination and wear suitable clothing and shoes for such.
CALLBACKS ARE BY INVITE ONLY ON SATURDAY, APRIL 11th.
If you are invited for a callback, please come prepared for a dance call (movement clothes, dance shoes) and for side reading. Not all people being considered for a role will be called back; not everyone called back will be cast. We may ask you to prepare something additional; however, this and further details will be included in callback communications.
