Places to Visit

Captain's Cove
Captain's Cove Seaport is one of Connecticut's premier tourist attractions and seaport complexes. Located on Historic Black Rock Harbor, the complex is an active maritime and amusement center with boating slips, seaport events, quaint boardwalk shops, harbor cruises, a waterside restaurant and live entertainment!

Connecticut's Beardsley Zoo
The only zoo in Connecticut provides a wonderfully wild experience for everyone. As an accredited member of the American Zoo and Aquarium Association (AZA) and participant in its Species Survival Plan (SSP), the Zoo is committed to the preservation of endangered animals and are continually developing strategies that will protect species and preserve their wild habitats. Open year-round!

The Discovery Museum
The Discovery Museum and Planetarium's mission is to educate, excite, and engage visitors in the exploration of science, technology, and ideas through interactive experiences that promote new insights. The Museum seeks to enhance public understanding of the science and technology by providing instructive experiences encouraging participant interaction with hands-on physical science exhibits, Planetarium programs, the Challenger Learning Center and various other educational programs.

The Barnum Museum
One of the most recognizable symbols of Bridgeport, the Barnum Museum houses a treasure-trove of artifacts and information relating to its founder, the inimitable P.T. Barnum, his businesses, including the "greatest show on earth," and the history of Bridgeport, which he served as Mayor.The Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00am to 4:30pm and on Sundays from 12:00 noon to 4:30pm. The museum is closed Mondays and holidays. It is located on Main Street!

The Arena at Harbor Yard
The undisputed crown jewel of Bridgeport's thriving arts and entertainment complex, the Arena at Harbor Yard attracts half a million visitors each year for a wide variety of exciting events, including concerts by world-famous musicians, entertainment spectaculars, professional sports, special events, trade shows, conventions and more.

The Ballpark at Harbor Yard
The Ballpark at Harbor Yard, home of the Bridgeport Bluefish, is situated at one of the major gateways to Bridgeport. Visitors arriving on the Bridgeport/Port Jefferson ferry, from Amtrak and Metro-North trains at Bridgeport's rail terminal, and in vehicles on the Interstate 95 overpass, are all treated to a view of a sparkling new sports and entertainment complex, of which the ball park was the first component.
